Candela Laser Hair Reduction

Laser treatment for hair removal means fast and reliable, permanent hair reduction. Our experienced therapists use medical grade Candela GentleLase Pro, the world’s most efficient hair reduction system. For smooth, ready to go skin all year round.

The Candela Medical Grade laser is the industry leader in producing fast, safe and effective laser treatment. Only Candela lasers feature the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) to maximize patient safety and comfort.

Lasers work by delivering an intense beam of light that is absorbed by the skin. This light is converted to heat and is absorbed by the cells being targeted while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected.

Laser and light-based treatments have been used for many years for a variety of medical and cosmetic procedures. Candela is the most trusted name in the industry and has pioneered the development of some of the safest and most effective technologies and products available on the market today.

Starting your laser hair removal journey

A few important things to note before starting your laser hair removal journey:

  • A consultation and patch test is essential before commencing any laser treatments to ensure suitability.
  • Do not wax pluck or tweeze hair 6 weeks prior to starting your laser.
  • Once you start your course of laser hair removal the only method of hair removal while getting your course of treatments that can be used is shaving.
  • Shave 24 hours prior to your treatment to avoid irritation and ensure all hair is removed. We can not shave on the day for you.
  • Never show up to your appointment with any tanning products on the skin this includes tinted moisturisers and tanning mists. We will not be able to carry out your treatment.
  • Some medications including pain killers can cause photo-sensitivity please always inform us if anything has changed since your consultation, if you have been on antibiotics you will need to be off them for a minimum of 2 weeks before we can do your next treatment.
  • If you have been in the sun you will need to wait 6 weeks before you can get your next session.

Laser Hair Removal FAQ

Please ensure there is NO false tan on the area ( the machine cannot tell the difference between real and fake tan.

We CANNOT perform any treatments with tan on the area). Please ensure you have NO active tan the area must have been covered from daylight/sunlight for a minimum of 6 weeks (this could be longer if your skin holds a tan)

You cannot expose your skin to sunlight for a minimum or 4 weeks post laser hair removal

Please ensure you have not been on any medication (antibiotics, steroids in the last 6 weeks

All medications and medical issues will need permission with a doctors letter

Do not take any ibuprofen 24 hours before your appointment

Shave each area to be treated we will need to do a patch test on each area. Please leave some hair as we need to assess the hair type for treatment.

Please ensure you have nothing on the skin – no moisturiser, deodorant etc…

Only dark hairs! Blonde hairs, grey or red hairs have no pigment so laser will be ineffective. As there is no melanin in the hair for the laser to be attracted to.

Laser treatment doesn’t usually hurt; it can feel like a ‘snap of an elastic band on the skin’ or ‘a flick of heat’ it is generally quite tolerable when performed. Your therapist will ensure the machine is at the correct setting for your comfort.

We usually recommend having your laser treatment done every 4-6 weeks

You may shave, but you must not epilate, pluck, wax or use hair removal creams betweens sessions as there must be a hair in the follicle for the laser to work.

We recommend everyone has a course of 6 treatments. This should give 60-80% hair reduction. There are different factors that will affect your results- i.e consistency of treatment, hair color, hormones etc… male hair with coarseness and testosterone will potentially take 6-12 treatments.

We recommend everyone has top ups to maintain results.

Laser hair removal disables the hair follicle. We cannot guarantee that laser hair removal is permanent, but where hair returns, it is usually finer, sparser and more manageable after treatment, you may also have touch ups to keep you hair free.

We usually recommend at least 1 week although your therapist can discuss this more at your initial consultation.

We recommend that you leave two weeks between treatments on your face.
